Here would be part of Joseph's Mountain top experience...he sure had fun giving his brothers a hard time and in a sense paying them back for all that they did to him. Let us be honest, given the opportunity we all have the ability within us to pay someone pack for any pain, grief, or heartache they have given us. We are not different from Joseph. We are taught though through the new covenant (New Testament) that we are supposed to forgive as we have forgiven others (go read the Lord's Prayer it is in there) and yet we struggle with that do we not?
Joseph should have forgiven his brothers and mind you keep reading tomorrow's reading and you will see that he does, but he likes to have a little fun with them first. He likes watching them sweat it out. He liked giving them a hard time. Have you ever given someone a hard time? Just for the fun of it? Most of us have, and lets face it, it is fun most of the time. Sometimes though we take it too far. Did Joseph take it too far? As a man of God in a position of power did he abuse it? Or did Joseph use it to bless his family and the whole country of Egypt? I think in the end Joseph used his gifts and his power for good. It is good to see isn't it? We see time and time again in our society people in places of power using it for their own benefits. How should we use the power that we have been given in our lives? Is God calling you to do something for someone because of a certain gift you have or a certain position you have been given?
